   1. A FISHING VILLAGE!

The iconic statue known as ‘Merlion‘ is used as the country’s national icon and mascot. This name of this statue is coined by two words that mean ‘sea’ and ‘lion’. It is a mythical character whose body is that of a fish and head of a lion—believed to denote the humble beginnings of Singapore as a fishing village.

   2. NOT 1 BUT 64 ISLANDS

Singapore is a beautiful country with vibrant tradition, culture and lifestyle. But the notion that this beautiful country is made up of just one island is wrong! The Night Safari, located on the Mandai Lake, is the world’s first night zoo, which allows people to explore the zoo and experience the beauty of the place at night! The World’s Tallest Indoor Waterfall – is the centrepiece of Singapore‘s Changi Airport. As Singapore experiences frequent thunderstorms, so the Rain Vortex has been designed to funnel rainwater at a rate of 10,000 gallons per minute. The water stream will naturally cool the air under the dome, with the captured water will be re-used in the building. Also, there are several eating points, shops and other activities to spend some layover time.

   7. LARGEST FERRIS WHEEL

Singapore Flyer is located in the Downtown Core district of Singapore and is the second-highest Ferris wheel in the world! This wheel at the height of about 165 metres is the highest in the world and is a place of major tourist attraction. This wheel has air-conditioned capsules and a perfect place for a formal dinner!    8. COMPULSORY MILITARY SERVICES 

Military services in Singapore are compulsory for men, and they have to undergo training for two years upon reaching 18 years of age.
