  • Thar: The great Indian desert

The Thar Desert is the largest Indian desert in Rajasthan. However, portions of Thar are also in Punjab, Gujrat, Haryana, but 60% of the desert lies in Rajasthan.

  • Kumbalgarh Fort

The Kumbalgarh Fort located at the height of 1,000 meters on a hilltop with parameter walls extending 36 km. The palace has the longest fortification in the world.

  • Colour Coded Cities

One of the most amazing facts about Rajasthan is that a few of its cities are colour coded. Jaipur is known as the Pink City, Jodhpur as the Blue city and Jaisalmer as the Golden city. In fact, you can see several houses painted blue even today in Jodhpur, isn’t that’s cool?

  • The Only Hill Station

Mount Abu is the only hill station in Rajasthan. It is located 1,722 meters above the sea level and situated on the highest point of Aravalli range. Because of its high altitude, rivers, waterfalls, and forests. It is often referred to as ‘an oasis in the desert’.

  • Home to India’s Largest Districts

Besides, Rajasthan being the largest state of India, Jaisalmer is known as the third largest district of India. The other districts, namely Bikaner, Barmer, Jodhpur, are the fourth, fifth and sixth largest districts of India respectively.

  • India’s Only Saline River

Yes!! This is the most exciting fact about Rajasthan. Luni River is the only Saline River in India that passes through the Thar Desert and ends in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat.

  • Bikaner’s Camel festival 

The most exciting fact about Rajasthan is the unique Bikaner’s Camel Festival which celebrates and glorifies the tough animal and the gentle beast camel. Beautifully dressed camels with their carts loaded with coloured clothes parades in the festival. There are so many activities like Camel race, Fur cutting design, Best breed competition and so on that happen in the festival.
