Kheerganga Trek is one of the most famous trekking destinations in Himachal Pradesh. It is located deep in the Parvati valley at the height of about 2950m. Kheerganga trek is known for its memorable experiences. The temperature at Kheerganga trek varies across the season. You can choose to undertake the trek at any time of the year according to your weather preferences.

Kheerganga Trek is a short and easy trek. It is about 24km long and can be undertaken by beginners too. Kheerganga trek can be covered in 1-2 days easily.

This trek starts from beautiful hill station Barshaini. To reach Barshaini from Kasol, you can hire a cab or bus. From Barshaini three routes can be taken to reach Kheerganga-

  • Via Nakthan Village
  • Via Kalga Village
  • Via Tosh Village

Via Nakthan Village is one of the most popular and preferred treks to reach Kheerganga. You can enjoy the local food and cafes on the way to Kheerganga, and you also get to witness the natural hot water springs at Kheerganga. Once you reach the top, you can relax at your campsite and enjoy different activities with your group.

Tips and Things to Carry at Kheerganga Trek

  1. If you’re a beginner, it would be a good idea that you start exercising and prepare yourself some time ahead.
  2. Since kheerganga Trek is located at the height of 2950m, it is advised that you take an adequate no. of pauses in between Barshaini to Kheerganga.
  3. Internet and network connectivity is bad at high altitudes. So, it’s better to make your important call before starting.
  4. Carry your comfortable clothes and shoes for the trek.
  5. Carry your First-Aid kit.
  6. Carry some energy bars, candies or some sugar-rich items for energy with you.
  7. Carry a water bottle with you and some handy snacks
  8. Carry your Valid ID’s and Power bank with you.
  9. Masks and sanitizers are compulsory. 
  10. Carry lightweight backpacks.
